My friend and I went for lunch 2 weeks ago. I had a chef salad and he had buffalo chicken strips and fries. We thought the food was good. The place is filthy though. I went to use the bathroom and it was even dirtier. I will not be back for that reason. It is under new ownership so maybe they will clean it.
Went here to get breakfast with my wife. We came in and seated ourselves. Waitress came and got our drink order. She brought me my coffee but failed to bring my wife her drink and no menus. She proceeded to then ignore us and take other drink orders and deliver menus to tables that came in after us. My wife asked for her drink and was finally given her drink. Then the waitress proceeded to not bring menus or ask for an order for about 15 minutes. We proceeded to just leave and as we paid for our drinks the waitress asked what our order was even though she never took an order. The service was terrible. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Perfect lunch stop on our journey West. We were looking for a locals country diner and there it was. Service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious and priced just right. Good portions and a variety of choices available.
Small town cafe.. nice people and great service. It's only open until 130 but that's great for my lunch.. sometimes very busy.. have to sit with people you don't know to eat.. more community oriented
If you have never been here, you need to get here. Definitely a hidden Gem. Like going back in time like it use to be. Everything is perfect. Bacon is awesome and I am the BACONATOR. Hammond, Illinois right on Rt. 36
My son and I were passing through while doing an animal shelter transport. What a great find! Had a full order of biscuits and gravy and coffee they were GREAT! Waitress was very friendly. The both of us left full for less than $20.00!
The food is good, but they can spot an outsider quickly and the stares prove it. I had the breaded tenderloin, which looked like it came out of a box, frozen. Nothing wrong with that so to speak, but I love the places that have fresh tenderloins. This business has been around for several years, so they must be doing something right. I just wish the atmosphere was more friendly.
Good old-fashioned cafe food. The best cheese burgers around. The daily specials are amazing. I grew up here, so I'm a little biased. Through the years, the food is still the best around. It's hard to beat an old hometown cafe!
